THE SONS OF GOD

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not" (1 John  3:1).

The word "sons" as used in the verse above is translated from the Greek word "teknon" which means legitimate or vital sons of God. Letting us know the importance of our sonship to God, Apostle John in that verse used an emphatic rhetorical question saying, "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us..."  that'll help you to understand that it's a different kind of love. Such that qualified us for something we ordinarily aren't qualified for-the glory of being called the sons of God. That's not just an ordinary love, that's a supernatural love. Praise God!
1 John 3:2, tells us, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God" not in the future, or when we get to heaven, but NOW. It's a statement of fact; a present hour reality, that as Christians, we are the legal, legitimate and also vital sons of God. Just think about it for a minute. Understand that the legal aspect of redemption was what made the vital experience of eternal life possible. Check out what Apostle Paul said in 1Corinthians 6:20, "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."  You see that? This is what made it legal; the fact that you were bought with a price, that is, the blood of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Your sonship to God has been legalized and sealed by the blood of Jesus Christ which was shed for you and many others!

Now, let's  look at the nineteenth verse  of that same chapter. It reads, "What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?"(1Corinthians 6:19). This shows that God has bought and brought us to live in His class of being, and has poured Himself into us thereby making our physical bodies His tabernacle of witness; His living temple. This is the vital aspect. That means there's no circumstances you can't surmount. There's no mountain greater than the power you have as a son and daughter of God. That means, you'll always be on top and not below. Let this consciousness of who you are in Christ and before God overwhelm your sense of reasoning. Glory to God.

The Blessed Truth!

The Prayer:
Father in the Name of Jesus. I thank you for your incomparable and unconditional love. Thank you for counting me worthy to be called your son. I glorify you for abiding in me, making my heart your temple. I take control over all circumstances and challenges of life today in the Jesus' Name. Amen!

Kindly share this with your family, friends, colleagues, and neighbours as you remain blessed in Jesus' Name. Amen!
