MAKE NECESSARY CHANGES!
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Romans 12:2 KJV)
"Change is constant" so the popular axiom says. We need to make the necessary changes in the course of life, so we can have better experiences in life. Changes are necessities for life advancement. Change is part of the growth process. But the truth is, the way to make positive and effective changes in your life as a Christian is through the agency of God's Word and power of the Holy Spirit. Peter the apostle, who had previously been unstable and shaky in his belief, became so bold and declared the gospel with such power that three thousand souls were won to Christ, after he(Peter) received the Holy Spirit (Read Acts 2:14-41).
You see, just as you need a mirror to check on your physical appearance, so you need God's Word to see what you really look like on the inside and make the necessary adjustments so that what you are inside will be adequately reflected outside. 2Corinthians 3:18 reveals that as you keep your gaze on the mirror of God–His Word, you're transformed through the ability of His Spirit into what the Word says. You need to see yourself the way God sees you. When you do, that's when you can be properly guided by the Holy Spirit on who should be your friend, where you are to go? who will you speak to? what will you say? What are you suppose to do?
God intends for you to live a disciplined and ordered life. But He never condemns you when you do things out of order. What He expects you to do is to make changes where and when necessary. God wants the best for you, and wants you to walk with Him and experience His glory in the new year. Your life's got to be different. If you couldn't figure it out for the entire 2018, then it's time to try a different approach. Anything that didn't work for you last year shouldn't be part of this year's conversation! God desires to make something beautiful out of your life as you yield to His Spirit and live by His Word.

The Prayer:
Father in the name of Jesus, I disconnect myself from anyone and anything that'll hinder my advancement in life this year. My mind is enlightened to make right decisions that'll propel me to greatness in this new year. As I behold your glory in your Word, I shall be changed by the Holy Spirit to conform to the picture of 'me' that I see in your Word. Amen!
