The Blessed Truth Jan. 2 2019

RUN YOUR OWN RACE!

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us" (Hebrews 12:1 KJV).

As our faces are different, so are our destinies. There's a peculiar life of glory that God has programmed and predestined for everyone on earth. The reason why many are not living this life of glory is because they have deviated from their predestined assignment or calling by comparing themselves, or their successes with that of others. If there is anything you should do away with this new year, is this competitive mindset or zest of outdoing another fellow. Stop it! You don't share the same destiny and that's a factual truth of life which you must respect. You see, nothing in this universe was created to compete with another. The glory of everything consists in itself.

In life, you must never compare yourself with others; rather, run your own race and be the best of you. Our opening verse talks about "the race" that is set before you; thus you're not called to run someone else's race. Hence, it's needless to engage in any kind of unhealthy rivalry or competition with others. You're only permitted to compete with yourself and outdo your past. Never allow yourself to be discouraged when it seems as though those around you are making more progress than you are; you're not running the same race! Believe it or not, the easiest way to get lost on the path to destiny is to always follow the crowd. Instead, follow your dream and stay on it.

That someone else is succeeding doesn't mean you're failing: it all depends on individual aims and targets, or set out objectives. Listen, success is relative, and is only measured at different stages, never forget that. Take for instance, two men who are building their houses. While one lays a not-too-deep foundation and starts erecting a bungalow, the other takes his time to dig deep because he wants to erect a five-storied building. The former may finish his bungalow and even start living in it while the latter is yet digging his foundation.

So in life, focus on your race! Set your gaze upon the Master(Jesus) and run your race to win, seeking only to outdo your past. Compete only with yourself based on God's plans for your own life. When you have this consciousness, your life will be full of rest, and you will learn to measure your success through the Word of God.
THE BLESSED TRUTH!

The Prayer:

Father in the name of Jesus, thank you for showing me how to run with patience the race you've set before me. I channel my focus and energies you Lord Jesus, to fulfill your plans and purposes for my life. I refuse to compare myself with anyone else. I am determined to outdo my past and be the best of me that you have made in Christ Jesus. Amen!

Kindly share this with your family, friends, colleagues, and neighbours as you remain blessed in Jesus' Name. Amen!
