TO BE DISCIPLINED! (Part 2)
"He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls." (Proverbs 25:28)
To start with, a city without walls as used in the verse is a defenseless city; one that is easily prone to the attacks of the enemies of such city. Such city would be the habitation of all manners of people and if care is not taken, would eventually collapse or cease to exist as a city or even taken over by another stronger government.
However, the Holy Spirit made no mistake in likening the spirit of a man who has no rules over himself to a city without walls. And that is talking about being disciplined. There's no ethical form of discipline that does not come with some rules or principles to live by. There has to be biblical and ethical rules or guidelines that direct the course of your life. They must be strictly adhered to, if you're to be successful in life. Every act of indiscipline is a blemish on the value of your character, be it good or bad; and you know, character is what defines who you are. You can't separate a man from his character; in fact, your character is the personification of your being. Praise God! To be of a good character, discipline must be in place.Discipline is not a gift; not even part of the gifts of the Holy Spirit so you don't need to pray for it. Of course, others can discipline a person on the grounds that it has to do with the society at large but the only discipline that lasts is self-discipline rooted in the Word of God (Read Psalm 19:7a). You should learn to discipline yourself bodily, spiritually and mentally. You don't need a huge capital to become a successful businessman or businesswoman but with self-discipline, you can turn that One-Thousand Naira business into a multinational business. With self-discipline, most anything is possible because, it is through it you can carefully harness and maximize your God-given potentials.
People of God, God may not be directly speaking to your ears but He's always speaking to you through His Word-the Bible. Harken to it. He also speaks through His anointed men of faith; your Pastors, Prophets, Ministers of the Gospel, Evangelists and even through this daily devotional message, listen to them. Your life can't be any better than how much you pay attention to the Word of Wisdom-the Word of God. The reason this message is coming to you is because God wants you to put this aspect of your life in order as He's about to do a new thing in your life. Therefore, show Him that you're ready and get disciplined.

Blessed Eternal Rock of Ages we magnify your Holy Name this wonderful morning. Thank you for training our spirits this morning with your ever working Word, making us a better person physically and spiritually. We disconnect ourselves from every spirit that doesn't want us to yield to your corrections. Thank you Father for repairing the broken parts of our lives and setting us on the right track of truth and godliness. Blessed be your Name forever in Jesus' Name we pray.
